Colgate-Palmolive’s Unit Volume Rises 7%

Colgate-Palmolive worldwide top-line unit volume increased 7% while earnings per share grew 16% in the first quarter. Each of Colgate’s operating divisions achieved strong volume growth and also increased operating earnings in the period. Earnings per share rose to $.44 vs. $.38 on a diluted basis.
